Kim Tina Von Wald, 58, of Babbitt dies

Kim Tina Von Wald, 58, of Babbitt went to her heavenly home peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from her home in Babbitt.
Kim was born in Ely, MN on November 20, 1959 to Bruce and Judith (Aho) Von Wald and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Babbitt.
She participated in the Special Olympics as a gymnast and attended Family Camp at Lake Geneva in Alexandria, MN every summer. Kim embodied a positive attitude about things in life and always had good things to say about others.
She attended Babbitt Assembly of God Church where she especially loved attending Sunday School, rarely missing a Sunday. Kim loved her Sunday School teacher Laurie Rasmussen and special friends Steve Rasmussen, Cheryl Tuomela, Cindy and Paul “Bones” Hellersted, Scott and Cindy Edgett, Debbie and Arnold Nelson, Renne Sellman, Jean Taylor, and Pastor Ben and Beth Morgan.
She loved working at all church events especially the Fall Harvest Party every October 31. She was known as a “Prayer Warrior” in the church and showed a genuine love for everyone with whom she came in contact.
At ball games she attended she could be heard cheering for the visiting team as well as the home team. Her favorite cheer was “strike ’em out”.
She had many friends and thought everyone was her friend. She had a knack for remembering names and phone numbers. A special thank you to her dentist, doctors and all the hospice staff. We and Kim loved and appreciated all of you.
Kim is survived by her parents, Bruce, whom she called “Poppers” and mother Judith; siblings Brandon (Lori Rosenbush) of Puyallup, WA, Pastor James Von Wald and Pastor Tina Von Wald of Foley, MN, Rian (Jeannene) Von Wald of Blaine, MN, Ronald (Darla) Von Wald of Blaine, MN; nieces Emma (Jared) Thompson, and Ella Von Wald; nephews Michael (Lisa), Mark (Bonnie), grand-nephews, Ean, Noah, Ethan, Sam and Max; and great-grand-nephew Benjamin Von Wald; and many uncles, aunties and cousins. Kim has many friends too numerous to mention. Her family thanks each of you for the love and kindness you have shown to Kim.
