Jonathan Michael Maki, 28, dies

Jonathan Michael Maki, 28, of Roseau, Minn. died on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. He went home to the Lord.
Jonathan was born in Ely, on April 24, 1986, to Michael V. Maki and Deborah N. (Maki) Prahl. He grew up in Winton. Jonathan was a star baseball player during his school years and a loyal Minnesota Twins fan. He enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing, and especially hanging out with his best friend, Brent Goodin. He dearly loved his friends and cat, Xerxes.
Jonathan was a proud employee of Polaris Industries. For all who knew him, it wasn’t just a job, it was where he made many treasured friends. He will be remembered as a gentle and kind man. He would always think of others instead of himself; and was always there to lend a helping hand. Blessed be his memory.
Jonathan is survived by parents, Michael and Debbie of Winton; sister, Amanda (Rick) Mitchell of Hermantown; nephews, Maddux Mitchell and (baby due in August); paternal grandparents, James and Mary Maki, maternal grandparents, Ronald and Marvel Prahl all of Winton; aunts, Rhonda Prahl and Donna Maki; uncle, Daniel (Deb) Maki; cousin, Cassie Anderson and first cousin and special friend, Ryan Jerich; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friend, Susan Dokken.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Jonathan Prahl and his great-grandparents.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Grace Lutheran Church in Ely. Online guest book at:
