Mary (Franich) Mrack, 98, dies

Mary (Franich) Mrack passed away peacefully at her home at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Mountain Iron on Sunday, March 15, 2015. She was 98.
She was born Mary Magdelene Franich on December 23, 1916, the second of eight children to parents Nick and Amanda (Devich) Franich in Mountain Iron, MN. She graduated from Mountain Iron High School in June of 1934. She attended Northwest Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis in 1940 and was employed as a medical laboratory technician.
She married Frank Mrack of Ely on September 20, 1955 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mountain Iron. They lived in Ely for 39 happy years. Her husband Frank died in November of 1986. She moved to Virginia, MN in 1993.
Her family and friends will always remember her sweet nature and quiet determination. She was cared for and admired by those who knew her.
Survivors include sisters, Phyllis Franich of Mountain Iron and Veronica Cvar of Duluth and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mountain Iron on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation at 12:30 p.m. Fr. Brandon Moravitz will officiate.
