Edna Ann Kibbe, 95, of Ely, dies

Edna Ann Kibbe, mother and grandmother, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 just two weeks before her 96th birthday. She died at her home with her family near Ely, MN.
She was born in Buffalo, NY on October 30, 1919 in a family of seven. She grew up and attended school in Buffalo NY and was elected class president. She was also class valedictorian. She married Harold E. Kibbe I, February of 1944, moved to Ohio and lived there for 60 years. They were married for many years until Harold passed away 25 years ago. She worked for over 30 years for the NY and Penn Central railroads and was a very intelligent business woman and loving mother. She loved to travel and go to Railroad Business Women’s conventions. She visited all 50 states.
Edna moved from Ohio 11 years ago to live with her family in Ely. She was always young at heart, so she would have liked the picture we choose of her at a time in her life that reflected that view. She is survived by her son Harold E. (Jo Anne) Kibbe II of Ely, two grandchildren: Harold E. (Tainia) Kibbe III of Leonidas, MN and Cherie A. (Thomas) Nauha of Lakeville, MN and four great grandchildren: Tara Nauha, Tyler Nauha, Mikayla Kibbe and Michael Kibbe.
Rest in peace, we all love and miss you. Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely.
