Contest early birds for first week of Ice Out guesses

Eager to get their prognostication noted for the 2018 Shagawa Lake Ice Out Contest, entrants at Grand Ely Lodge and the website included these:

April 24 at 1:15 p.m., Jeff Hoffman, Valparaiso, IN;
April 26 at 12 p.m., Matt Hansen, Milford, CT; at 2:20 p.m., Sydney Augustin, Blaine, MN;
April 28 at 11:22 a.m., “It was a cold winter in the state of Virginia but I think you guys beat us,” wrote Carlos Santos, Charlottesville, VA;
April 30 at 2:20 p.m., Joyce Bernard, Mount Airy, MD;
May 1 at 12:58 p.m., “This is in honor of my brother’s 64th birthday!!,” wrote Kathy Shanahan, Peotone, IL;
May 4, 3:00 p.m., Jim Hansen, Denver, CO;
May 9, 3:41 p.m., Tom Hansen, Maplewood, MN;
Be sure to fill out the entry completely. Someone will win the $100, $50 or $25 prizes!

Each entry MUST have a complete name, address and phone number as well as the date and time of day for the guess. Incomplete entries are thrown out.
Employees of Grand Ely Lodge and the Ely Echo are not eligible to win prizes.
Only one entry per person, no more than three entries per household application by mail or email.
