OYSTER STEWARDSHIP PROJECT
SUPERIOR NATIONAL FOREST
KAWISHIWI RANGER DISTRICT

The Oyster Stewardship Sale is located approximately 15 miles south of Babbitt, in St. Louis County, Minnesota, within T59N, R12W, Sections 2. 9, 10, 11 and 15. The Forest Service will receive sealed bids at the Kawishiwi Ranger District Office, at 1393 Highway 169, Ely, Minnesota 55731 before 1:00 p.m. local time on September 17th, 2019, for a combination of timber value and stewardship service work items associated with this stewardship project. Timber to be harvested within the project area includes an estimated 2788.00 CCF aspen pulpwood, 266.00 CCF of maple pulpwood, and 102.00 CCF of spruce pulpwood. In addition an un-estimated volume of mixed conifer and mixed hardwood biomass is being offered as timber subject to agreement that the bidder may agree to remove at a fixed rate. The Oyster Stewardship includes two mandatory stewardship projects; Site Prep for Natural Seeding in Payment Unit 6 (SP1) and Site Prep for Natural Seeding in Payment Unit 7 (SP2). Bids will be evaluated on a best value basis to the government. The successful bidder will be evaluated based on their technical proposal describing how mandatory stewardship service work will be completed as well as a rate per unit bid on each stewardship service work item and an Offer Rate bid for included timber within mandatory cutting units. Offers will not be publicly opened or disclosed. The Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all bids. A prospectus, bid form, blank technical proposal form and complete information concerning the timber, the conditions of sale, the service work required in this contract and the process to submit bids is available to the public from the Kawishiwi Ranger District (218) 365-7600 located at 1393 Highway 169, Ely, Minnesota 55731. The Blowdown Sale is located within T61N R01W Sec. 21 and 28. The Forest Service will receive sealed bids in public at Ely, Minnesota at 1:00 PM local time on 09/17/2019 for an estimated volume of 526 CCF of Jack Pine sawtimber, 1451 CCF of Aspen pulpwood, 140 CCF of Balsam Fir pulpwood, and 323 CCF of Pine pulpwood marked or otherwise designated for cutting. In addition, there is within the sale area an unestimated volume of Grn Bio Cv grn bio cv, and Grn Bio Cv grn bio cv that the bidder may agree to remove at a fixed rate. The Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Interested parties may obtain a prospectus from the office listed below.
