Judy Mae McClure

Judy McClure passed away into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior for eternity Monday July 18, 2022 at the age of 75.

She was born in Chicago, Illinois February 19, 1947 and immediately adopted by John and Florence Simmermon (Heinnickel), Joliet, IL. and was raised with a Christian upbringing in Lockport, Illinois.
Judy married Frank C Gotschika in 1964 and had two daughters, Penny and Denise. They resided in New Lenox Illinois. Judy was a very accomplished pianist playing piano and organ for church and teaching music lessons at the Joliet Conservatory of Music as well as privately from her home. Music was her passion and she truly enjoyed teaching hundreds of students throughout her lifetime. Judy became an aviation enthusiast and earned her pilots license flying to airshows, outings and vacations with family and friends.
After the untimely death of her husband Frank in 1976, Judy remarried in 1978 To Donald L McClure and had one Son, Sean. They then moved to Wisconsin and eventually to the St Cloud, Mn area where she continued teaching and was a realtor for over 25 years as well as, a member of the Civil Air Patrols’ prestigious cadet program.
In 2008 Judy was drawn back to the Ely community for its beauty and simplicity after visiting numerous times in the 70’s when Frank would play at Dees Bar with the Bob Dozak Orchestra, for the sled dog races as well as by the research and studies that Dr Lynn Rogers was doing through the North American Bear Center. She has always loved bears since she was a child. She volunteered and then was employed by the NABC, continued teaching music and became a member of LedgeRock Community Church where she played piano for many years, held student recitals and recorded her own music with the help of the talented friends in audio/visual and music ministry at the church.
She is preceded in death by John and Florence Simmermon (IN), Frank C Gotschika (IL), Donald L McClure (Texas) and numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Judy is survived by her children Penny Hunt (SC), Denise Roland0 (IL) and Sean McClure (MN).
Grandchildren: Stacy (Adam) Randes FL, Krystle Brown IN, Brittany (Jake) Drabik IL, Logan Reilly FL, Rachel Scanlan IL.
Great Grandchildren: Anthony Gisler, Griffon, Lyrik and Sky Lee Brown, Gemma Randes, Abbigail Drabik.
One Great, Great Grandchild: Zaylen Gisler.
Numerous loved family and friends across the country.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday August 27, 2022 at LedgeRock Community Church in Ely, Mn at 1:00 pm.
Judy requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to LedgeRock Community Church in Ely, Mn for the Music Ministry and/or the North American Bear Center Ely, Mn for Exhibit Development.
