Ely-Bloomenson Community Hospital hosted summer intern Emma Coppola who staffed a booth at the Farmers Market last week.

The Summer Healthcare Internship Program (SHCIP) is an annual program made possible through grant funding from the MN Hospital Association (MHA). The Summer Healthcare Internship Program opens for applications in May.

Students are typically employed with EBCH for eight weeks and spend time working and experiencing every Department.

In addition to working throughout the facility, the students also plan and execute a community benefit project of their choice.

Coppola is from Duluth and goes to school at Hamlin University. Past program participants have commented that their internship at EBCH helped them solidify their healthcare career choice.
