NOTICE TO ELY RESIDENTSIn 1995, the Ely City Council established the City of Ely Volunteer Recognition Award, recognizing Dick Miller, Rose Novak, Anna Wilmunen and Jennie Lawrich; adding Rose Pucel, Molly Zupancich in 1996; Nick Wognum and Alice Hillman in 1997; Renee Lassi and Christine Cadari in 1998; Pat Koski and Robert Kovall in 1999; Helen Champa and Marcella Zupec in 2000; Sally Davidson and Dick Foy in 2001; Bernie Hutar and Dick Zahn in 2002; Jane Yadlosky and Russ Robertson in 2003; Alberta Koschak and Roberta Patterson in 2004; Darlene Nemanich and Frank Jershe in 2005; Pat Lammi and Bud Mattson in 2006.The City of Ely is now soliciting nominations for this year's 2007 VOLUNTEERS OF THE YEAR awards. Any service organization and/or club, or any individuals are requested to submit the names of an individual whom they feel should be recognized as the City of Ely 2007 Volunteers of the Year.Please submit the name of the individual you are proposing for consideration, along with background information on said individual, to the Ely City Clerk's Office, 209 East Chapman Street, Ely, Minnesota 55731, or phone 218-365-3224 x 301 for further information. These nominees must be residents of the City of Ely.Nominations must be received by the Clerk-Treasurer/Administrator's Office by 4:30 P.M.
