Kiwanis/Lions to provide free eye-screening for Ely area pre-schoolers on March 29

The Kiwanis Club of Ely is partnering with the Lion’s Club of Cook to provide FREE eye-screening for Ely-area pre-school children, on Wednesday, March 29.
From 9 a.m. to noon in the basement at First Lutheran Church, the screening will primarily target three-year olds or younger, but older pre-schoolers will also be welcome.
The results of the screening can detect if a child’s eyes are normal, or if the child need’s to be referred to an eye care professional. The simple two-minute screening will use a “glorified camera” recently purchased by the Cook Lion’s Club that can evaluate if there are any abnormalities in the pupils of the child.
The only requirements needed for the free screening are the parent’s presence and a signature on a consent form.
