Terry Myers

Terry Lynn Myers, age 77, passed away on November 2, 2023. Terry was born on August 28, 1946, in the earliest wave of the Baby Boom to Malcom Abram Myers and Thelma (Roby)Myers. Terry was born and grew up in New Albany, Indiana alongside his dear cousin, Tom Hobson (Cheryl Hobson), who he considered a brother.

Terry graduated from Clarksville High School in 1965. He joined the Air National Guard of Louisville where he served in Air Intelligence. After leaving the Guard, he worked at the ammunition plant in Charlestown, Indiana and then enrolled at Northwood Institute in West Baden Springs. He graduated with honors in Computer Science and Business.

He worked for Metradata Computing and then became a partner with Shultzstead, Myers, and Associates. He joined Coopers and Lybrand as a Manager in the early 1980s. Terry started his own business, YPRO Corporation, in 1983 from which he retiredafter more than 30 years. He married Judy McLear on May 9, 1987, and was a loving father to Sarah Helen (Philip Johnson) and Matthew Terry. The Myers family initially lived in Borden,Indiana then moved to Ocala, Florida. Terry and Judy purchased Silver Rapids Lodge in Ely, MN in 1992.

They were lodge owners for 10 years and were members of the Ely community until July 2004, when they moved to Corydon, Indiana. In their retirement, Judy and Terry returned to Sunset Road in Ely where they enjoyed several summers together on White Iron Lake.

Terry was an avid sportsman and could be found duck hunting or fishing. He loved his guns and was a great fix-it man. Terry was always willing to help whoever needed it and had a big heart. He played a mean game of Gin Rummy and Pinochle. Terry saw adventure in everything, he never feared the unknown, and was always looking to what was around the next bend. More than anything, Terry lived for those he loved.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00AM Friday, November 10th, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon, Indiana
