Youth DNR firearms safety course scheduled

A Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Firearms safety certification class and outdoor field day will be held in Ely.

Classes will be held from 6-8 p.m. on April 11, 13, 14, 17, 18, 20, 21, 24, 25 at Vermilion Community College in classroom CL 104.

The firearms safety certification course is for youth ages 11 and older can attend and receive their certificate. The firearms safety certificate becomes valid at age 12.

Students should come with an adult to the April 11 class at 5:30 p.m. to complete the paperwork.

The cost of the course is covered by the Ely-Winton Rod and Gun Club.
