Senator Grant Hauschild (DFL-Hermantown) visited students, faculty, and staff at Northeast Range School in Babbitt Monday “to highlight the importance of fair funding for our local schools in Northern Minnesota and ensuring they have the tools they need to give students a world-class education.”
“I’ve fought for critical capital funding for Northeast Range and other Northern Minnesota schools across our region because they are the heart of our communities and every child deserves quality educational opportunities,” said Hauschild. “I was honored to speak to students about the work we do in St. Paul and to see how the legislation we passed is making a positive impact on our schools, their programs, and students in the classroom.”
D uring M onday’s v isit, H auschild joined as a guest speaker in a social studies class to talk about the legislative process and to answer questions from students.
He also met with students participating in the school’s CTE shop program and toured the school cafeteria, which received state funding to upgrade equipment thanks to Hauschild’s efforts.
