As the calendar turns to November, winter sports in Ely are drawing near.
On Monday, Ely Memorial High School will hold its annual winter sports registration meeting. The session starts at 6 p.m., in the high school gymnasium.
The meeting is open to parents and all students who plan to participate in hockey, boys and girls basketball as well as wrestling, which is hosted by Northeast Range of Babbitt.
The boys and girls Nordic skiing programs held a separate meeting.
Coaches will be invited to address their players with information about first practices, and registration forms will be available to pick up and complete.
Those unable to attend are urged to get in contact with their respective coach to get early-season information.
Most winter sports teams will begin practice on Monday, Nov. 10, while boys basketball starts Nov. 17.
