With all that’s hap’ning in the state
Don’t you find it odd
That all you read and hear of late
Is Metrocentric fraud.
From Pipestone in the state’s southwest
To International Falls
And all the other outstate rest
We read ‘bout Guv’ner Walz
And his pal Attorney Gen
Ell’son comma Keith
There’s little else so now and then
We’d welcome some relief.
Metro has a brainless freeze
It makes you stop and think
Meanwhile all the lakes and trees
Don’t get their share of ink
The outstate voters hope for change
The metro gathers mobs
And up there on the Iron Range
They want to have more jobs
There’s such a diff’rent set of fates
Between those folks and us
We may need two separate states
To finish off this fuss.
Maybe now it’s time to say
There’s nothing common, really
Then fire up our ATVs
And roar upNorth to Ely.
