Babbitt Mayor Andrea Zupancich had a little fun on April Fool’s Day with a post about a Hollywood- style sign for Babbitt.
“I’m so excited to announce! Those that know me know I’ve been talking about this a lot over the years - along with an International Moose Center for Babbitt. But one wish at a time. Cleveland Cliffs, Twin Metals, NewRange Copper, IRRRB, Explore MN and Babbitt are part- nering for a Babbitt sign going up on the hill. (Think Hollywood) You’ll see it as you’re driving into town. Construction will start fall time and anticipate finishing up end spring 2027. Here are some seasonal renderings. Anticipated project cost is $2M.”
Lossing Powers Sports in Babbitt also joined in the fun with a “new” version of a side by side.
