Ely’s Cylvia DeBeltz overcame the elements and had her best outing of a stillyoung spring season.
And the result was a firstplace finish.
The senior topped a field of nearly 40 golfers Monday at The Quarry, taking first place in the girls division at the Mesabi East Invitational.
Over 18 holes, DeBeltz carded a 102 and easily took first, finishing eight strokes ahead of runner-up Brooke Torgerson of Two Harbors.
The win came on the heels of a solid performance
