Ely’s Violet Udovich continued her strong start to the 2026 track season - this time by winning three events at the annual Doc Savage Invitational.
The sophomore sensation was nothing short of dominant at the 70th annual meet in Hibbing, winning both the 100 and 400 dashes and adding a win in the high jump as well.
Udovich also took second place in the triple jump, piling up points for an Ely team that was severely shorthanded because of prom activities the same day.
In the team standings, the Wolves still managed a fourth-place finish among 10 teams in the girls division.
While Udovich was the source of the bulk of the Wolves’ points, Ely managed to put together a second- place four-by-800 relay, with Mattie Lindsay teaming up with Addison Kannas, Katy Brophy and Elsa Ellerbroek to finish in 11:01.71.
Lindsay also took third in the 300 hurdles in 53.46 seconds.
Udovich’s winning times were 12.53 seconds in the 100 and 57.47 in the 400, while she led the field in the high jump with a personal- best of 5-3.
In the tr iple jump, Udovich was the runner-up (34-2), while Kylie Mosher threw the discus 85 feet, six inches, her personal-best, to take third.
