The latest report from the Ely Police Department showed activity during a busy April.
During the month, the police had 15 cases sent out and referred for formal charges including cases for:
• Two fifth-degree drug possession charges;
• Three fourth-degree DUI;
• Second-degree DUI test refusal;
• Third-degree DUI controlled substance;
• Carrying a weapon without a permit;
• Carrying a weapon under the influence;
• Careless driving;
• Reckless driving;
• Failing to notify owner of damage to property;
• Obstructing legal process with force;
• Driving without due care;
• Open bottle.
Three of those cases resulted in arrests with suspects lodged at the St. Louis County Jail in Virginia.
Ely officers also wrote 75 parking tickets in April and issued seven citations for infractions including:
• Driving after license revocation;
• Open bottle;
• Underage consumption;
• Juvenile consumption;
• Disorderly conduct.
