At the Ely Public Library on Monday, June 22 to Tuesday, June 23, drop off before 3 p.m. on Monday, pick up after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the program will be a Stuffed Animal Sleepover – for the stuffed animal companions of library patrons. Is your stuffie ready for a special adventure? It’s time for a stuffed animal sleepover – the stuffies of Ely are invited to spend the night at the Library and go on a special adventure with Sam (the library’s stuffed animal lion who normally monitors the situation from the top of the shelves behind the desk) and the library staff. You’ll get an email from your stuffie during the night, photos of the adventures and friends it makes, and a special surprise when you pick it up. This program is for kids of all ages; one stuffed animal per person. Please register in advance. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.

Arrowhead Regional Development Commission, along with the Arrowhead Coalition of Trails (ACT), is hosting a series of community meetings to explore implementing a “Trail Town” program in the 28+ cities within the Mesabi Trail corridor. A session will be held in Ely on Monday, June 22 from 5-7 p.m. A light supper will be served. For more information or to register for an event, email [email protected].

At the Ely Public Library on Tuesday, June 23 at 2 p.m. the program will be Armchair Traveler: Mexico with Karl Kubiak. Do you want to see the world, but your budget or time commitments keep you from going everywhere? This month, Karl Kubiak will talk about his adventures in Mexico. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.

Heart of the Woods Quilters invites the public to a sweet stitch sewing vendor on Thursday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the LedgeRock Community Church, 1515 East Camp St. This is a pop up shop of fabric by two gals from Hibbing. Check out their website Sweetstitching.com and join for some fun fabric shopping.

At the Ely Public Library on Thursday, June 25 at 11 a.m. the program will be Get Crafty for kids : Recycled CD Wind Chimes - for all ages five and up. Get ready to craft with Tricia and make some CD wind chimes. We will turn old CDs into something bright and beautiful! All supplies are provided. Please register in advance so that we have enough supplies for everyone. Registration is required as supplies are limited. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.

The Unforgettables! the new, all inclusive, dementia friendly choir will have rehearsal dates June 26 and July 3 from 1-2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church at 226 East Harvey Street. Supported by Boundary Waters Choral Arts with Mike Rouse directing. Questions can be sent to [email protected]

Everyone is welcome to play MahJong at the Ely Community Center. Don’t know how to play? No problem. There is a table for beginners with instructors. You can learn on the fly plus there is online help as well. MahJong is played on Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m.
