The Arrowhead Coalition of Trails and Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC) hosted an informational meeting at Ely City Hall last Monday on plans to implement a “trail town” designation program for Mesabi Trail communities.
ARDC defines a trail town as “a place that embraces and supports the trails, and they do this in a way where travelers can venture off and look at what each individual trail town has to offer,” including local businesses, culture and history.
“On the Range here, we have so many trails: ATVS, snowmobile, hiking, mountain biking, paved biking, water trails, you name it and we’ve got it,” said ARDC representative Carson Polomis. “But we’re all pulling in different directions right now.”
