Lake County issues GO evacuation notice for portions of the Fernberg Road.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office, in coordination with the U.S. Forest Service, is issuing an IMMEDIATE EVACUATION for the Fernberg Road Corridor beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
The evacuation includes all adjoining roads, driveways, and trails from Lake One and Snowbank Lake to the Garden Lake Bridge.
The evacuation status for this area has been elevated to GO.
Residents and visitors should leave immediately.
Before leaving, bring:

Pets and necessary pet supplies
The Lake County Sheriff's Office will conduct door-to-door notifications throughout the GO evacuation zone. Residents are urged to remain alert to changing conditions and follow all evacuation orders and instructions from local officials.
Temporary Evacuation Point
A Temporary Evacuation Point will open at 8:30 a.m. at:
Babbitt Municipal Building 71 South Dr. Babbitt, MN 55706
The site will be staffed throughout the day. Anyone who anticipates needing overnight shelter is encouraged to check in as early as possible.
