BRP’s dealership Lossing’s Power Sports is proud to be supporting the U.S. Forest Service in their efforts to contain the wildfires in Minnesota with a fleet of nine Can-Am Defender side-by-side vehicles (SSV).
In early July 2026, extreme fire conditionsspreadacrossnortheastern Minnesota, notably in the Superior National Forest, burning more than 64,000 acres of land to date.
Lossing’s is helping out not only through the Can-Am Defender fleet, butalsobydonatingtolocalbusinesses andofferingvehiclestorageoptionsfor the community.
“When the U.S. Forest Service reached out to us on July 17, there was no question Lossing’s would step in to help out. We started gathering the units, trailers, and helmets right away,” says Derek Lossing, General Manager at Lossing’s Power Sports. “To our dealership, this was simply the right thing to do to protect our community and our playgrounds”.
The fleet of vehicles provided by Lossing’s includes Can-Am Defender HD9 and HD10 CAB units along with Defender MAX units and a Defender Lone Star.
The Can-Am Defender is a true workhorse and allows the Forest Service firefighterstoaccessremoteareas andnavigatetoughterrainquicklyand efficiently. Engineered to outperform, these SSVs boast class-leading torque, storage and towing capabilities, making them an essential tool for first responders during emergencies like wildfires.
The Lossing’s Power Sports dealership remains open during this period and continues to offer SSV rentals as a BRP Experiences outfitter. Lossing’s is donating 50% of their rental profits on new bookings between July 20 and Aug.16withthecodeBWCAtosupport the many local businesses affected by the wildfires.
In addition, the dealership is also storing ATVs and SSVs for customers whose homes are in danger or being evacuated.
