Repair project in Ely to cause week-long detour around Shagawa Lake

Repair project in Ely to cause week-long detour around Shagawa Lake

St. Louis County Public Works will be repairing a portion of County State Aid Highway 88 (Grant McMahan Blvd) on the northwest side of Shagawa Lake beginning Monday, August 24. No through traffic will be allowed during the first week of the project, resulting in a detour around the lake.

CSAH 88 will be closed from 800 feet west of Camp Easton Rd. to 500 feet west of Camp Easton for construction to repair an area of the road that has been sliding. Detour signs will be posted, directing traffic to follow CSAH 88 and Highway 169 as an alternative.

The goal is to reopen the road by the end of the day on August 29, though work will continue at the site until mid-September. Motorists are reminded to slow down and use caution when traveling in and around the work zone.

More information about the project can be found online at: Grant McMahan Blvd (CSAH 88) - Slide Repair | Engage St Louis County
