The Ely-Winton Historical Society (EWHS) is proud to announce the appointment of Valerie Nygren as its new Museum Manager.
Nygren started this work on July 13. With an impressive background in business and office management, Nygren brings organizational and customer service skills to the challenging museum environment.
Additionally, her artistic and creative background will bring a fresh look to the Society and its community engagement efforts.
Nygren recently moved from the Twin Cities to Tower and is enjoying the small-town life in northern Minnesota.
“I am excited to join the Ely-Winton Historical Society Museum team,” said Nygren. “The museum captures Ely and Winton’s amazing histories from the earliest time (the times of volcanos and glaciers) to the mid twentieth century. I look forward to building on the Society’s work, while looking for opportunities to tell more people the many stories that reflect this unique community.”
The Ely-Winton Historical Society invites the public to meet Nygren by stopping by the museum between noon and 4 p.m., on Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays. The museum is located at Minnesota North College, Vermilion Campus, 1900 E. Camp Street, Ely.
