Ordinance No. 54

An ordinance combining the offices of City Clerk and City Treasurer in the City of Winton, St. Louis County, Minnesota.

The City Council of the City of Winton Does Ordain:
Section 1: Combined City Clerk-Treasurer. The offices of city clerk and city treasurer are hereby combined at the close of the current city treasurer term, December 31, 2020, pursuate to Minn. Stat. 412.591, Subd. 2.

Section 2: Term of office. The combined City Clerk-Treasurer office shall continue until the close of the current City Clerk term, December 31, 2022, at which time a successor shall be elected every four years or appointed into office.

Section 3: Compensation. The City Council shall determine the compensation to be paid to the City Clerk-Treasurer.

Section 4: This ordinance becomes effective from and after its passage and publication in accordance with law.

Adopted by the Winton City Council this 6th day of April, 2020.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Ely will hold a special council meeting on Friday, May 1 at 11:30am for the police chief interviews the meeting will be held via Zoom video/teleconference.

In accordance with the requirements of Minn. Stat. Section 13D.021, Mayor Chuck Novak, has determined that an in person meeting in not practical or prudent because of a health pandemic or an emergency declared under Chapter 12 of the Minnesota Statutes.

Because of the City of Ely’s Proclamation and Declaration of Emergency, it has been determined that attendance at the regular meeting location by members of the public is not feasible.
