Northeast Range/Ely speech team at State

TheMinnesotaStateHighSchool League’s State Speech Tournament was held April 25-26.

Amber Sopoci in Serious Interpretation of Poetry, Sidney Orcutt in Serious Interpretation of Prose, Makenzie Little in Extemporaneous Reading and Eva Morgan in Storytelling.

Each contestant competed in the preliminary round but did not advance to the finals.

The Northeast Range Speech Team is coached by Jennifer Kaufenberg. The team is part of a co-op with the Northwoods and Ely speech programs. The team includes both junior high (grades 5–8) and varsity (grades 8–12) speakers.

The 2025 Speech State Tournament featured competitors from 161 teams at Shakopee High School.
