The Northeast Range Spring Band Concert will be Friday, May 2 starting at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Both the elementary and high school bands will be performing. Students awards and recognition will be given out. Admission is free but donations are welcome. Please come and enjoy an evening of music!

Northeast Range prom Grand March will be May 3 at 6 p.m. Range Astronomy Club will be having an astronomy days event on May 3 at Paulucci Space Theater, 1502 E 23rd Street in Hibbing from 4-9 p.m.

The first Sound Off of Sirens Memorial, hosted by and at the Embarrass Region Volunteer Fire Department, will take place on May 4 from noon to 1 p.m. Coffee ‘n will be served. The public is welcomed and encouraged to attend this special tribute. The first Sunday in May at noon local time each year, will resound with fire sirens sounding for 30 seconds, followed by a minute’s silence, in loving memory of, and deepest respect for, all firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty or left an indelible mark on our hearts before departing. Embarrass Region Volunteer Fire Department and Friends of ERVFD.

At the Babbitt Public Library on Monday, May 5 at 1 p.m. the program will be “Going to Bartalina Songs & Stories of Commercial Sailing on the Great Lakes” with folk singer Charlie Maguire. This program is funded with money from the MN Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.

Northeast Range Community Theater presents “Bringing Down ther House,” a pioneer drama by Todd Wallinger, directed by Joe Kaufenberg on Friday, May 9 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, May 10 at 1 p.m. in the Northeast Range auditorium.

Waasa Township is holding a “ Cemetery Clean-up Day” on Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Waasa Cemetery on Kaunonen Lake Road just off Hwy. 21. In case of rain, May 24 will be the alternate day. Volunteers, please bring work gloves and a rake, if you like. Garbage bags will be provided. Note: Cemetery rules state that each family needs to maintain their deceased loved one’s grave.

Peter Mitchell Days will be held June 20-22 with the Walleye Whamma Fishing Tournament on June 14.
