Fans gathered for the May event of History Happy Hour. There was a large turnout on Wednesday evening for the season ending History Happy Hour (HHH). Hosted by Jess Edberg, the program featured the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and how it helped to deal with the unemployment crisis of the Great Depression. Edberg said, “History Happy Hour delves into the rich history of the Ely, Minnesota area with pint-sized stories that are informative and entertaining.” The program is offered as a free, in-person presentation that lasts 30-minutes or less. In-kind support for HHH comes from the Boathouse Brewpub, Ely’s Heritage Preservation Commission, the Dorothy Molter Museum, Boundary Waters Connect and Ely Folk School.
