Blast from the Past

From the Ely Echo archives of June 3, 1985. A World War II B-26 bomber was at the Ely Airport in preparation of fighting forest fires in the area. Lynch Air Tankers out of Billings, Montana was contracted to provide the air support. The plans drop a combination of fire retardant and red dye, the dye to make the strike on the fire zone.
