The start of the Hwy. 2 closure has been delayed one week and is now scheduled to begin on Monday, July 14.
The $3.3 million Lake County project, which includes a 56-mile detour using Hwy. 1, was originally scheduled to start July 7. The proposed project includes replacing culvert pipes, reclaiming the pavement surface, and resurfacing the road.
Hwy. 2 will be closed to through traffic between Forest Hwy. 11 and state Hwy 1. Hwy. 2 will be closed to all traffic at Greenwood Creek for two to three weeks. This closure will shift south to Murphy Creek near Upland Trail by early August. The closure is expected to remain in place through mid-late August. A detour route will be signed.
