St. Louis County school board holds meeting

The District 2142 St. Louis County school board held a regular meeting on July 22 at the district office in Virginia.

On the agenda for approval was hiring teaching staff effective Aug. 25. There were a number of Northeast Range hires including: Amos Kolodji, 1.0 FTE math, Adam Hagen, .2 FTE elementary physical education, Timothy Kulik, 1.0 FTE special education, Scout Aiken, .8 FTE special education, Amanda DeGraef, 1.0 FTE elementary teacher, Malani Madill 1.0 FTE elementary teacher.

Kolodji, Hagen, DeGraef and Madill were teachers who were non-renewed at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. There was also a listing for Hagen to be recognized as a newly tenured teacher.

At the June meeting the board approved hiring Paul Zollinger as 1.0 FTE science and Dawn Merrill as .4 FTE language arts and .2 FTE elementary media for Northeast Range. Also, Britt Zxelsson was recalled for .5 LTE elementary teacher.

At the July meeting the board also dealt with rehiring coaching staff for the 202526 school year. On this list from Northeast Range were: Misty Roseth, volleyball head coach, Camryn Meyer, volleyball assistant coach, Adam Hagen, cross-country assistant coach, Cheri DeBeltz, girls swimming head coach, Sue Pasmick, girls swimming assistant coach.

Listed under retirement and resignations from Northeast Range were Jaden Scherer, check and connect mentor and Sena Bissonette, site one secretary.

At the June meeting, Ethan Stachovich was approved as a resignation as special education teacher as of June 2 from Northeast Range. Also, Randy Opdycke was laid off as .5 FTE custodian at Norheast Range due to the position being eliminated effective June 30.

Northeast Range had a number of donations listed at the July board meeting:

• $50 from Section 30 Disposal services.

• $100 from Rural Living Environments.

• $65 from Jeremy and Sara DeBruzzi.

• $65 from Trisha and Lucas Poderzay.

• $100 from Tom and Morgan Klatt.

• $100 from Jodi Rogers Reichensperger.

• $60 from Andrew Merhar.

• $20 from Jerome Debeltz.

• $25 from Vermilion Fuel Cor -poration doing business as Soudan Store.

• $100 from Frandsen Bank and Trust.

• $250 from the Ely-Babbitt-Tower Council, Knights of Columbus No. 3238.
