The Rotary Club of Ely will host a “Casino Night“ fundraiser and will dedicate the proceeds to Club sponsored Youth Activities.
The Casino Night event is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 15 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at The Community Hub building located at 760 East Miners Drive.
The Rotary Club’s youth activities include:
• Two $2,500 high school scholarships.
• Youth Exchange Program, which has been re-established after a Covid-19 hiatus. An outbound Ely high school student has been selected to study in Italy for the 2025-26 school year and an inbound student from Poland will join the Ely student body in 2025–26.
• Two high school attendees at the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Camp at the U of M - Crookston.
• High school Interact Club.
• High School graduation party.
Rotary is an international service club with members in more than 200 countries and the Ely Club understands the value of high school students having an international experience as an important part of their secondary education.
The Casino Night, sponsored by Boundary Waters Connect, will include three blackjack tables, a roulette table and a Texas hold-em table. Professional dealers will make the games entertaining and the night will include Wheel of Fortune, Plinko, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction and a bucket raffle.
Appetizers and a cash bar are available. Attendees must be 18 years or older and the event is limited to 170 participants.
The prizes are valued over $10,000 including:
• Three-piece Polywood set of two rocking chairs and an end table valued at $1,150.
• 50 inch smart TV.
• Two tickets to the Minnesota Vikings versus Chicago Bears game on Sunday, Nov. 16 at noon at US Bank Stadium.
• Two tickets to the Minnesota Twins versus Cleveland Guardians game on Saturday, Sept. 20, including an overnight stay at a downtown Minneapolis hotel within easy walking distance of Target Field.
• Battery powered “Milwaukee” brand chainsaw.
• Traeger BBQ grill.
• The Wilderness Golf outing for four golfers, including carts and an overnight stay at Fortune Bay Resort.
• Giants Ridge golf outing for four people.
• Grand Ely Lodge package with Ely golf.
• Unique “one of a kindmade in Ely, beanbag toss game complete with an Ely scene.
The cost to participate is $40 in advance or at the door.
