At the Ely Public Library on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 10:30 a.m. the program will be Move and Groove - for preschoolers with an adult. Get some of those wiggles out to the dance beat as Jessie leads kids in simple dances and stretches. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.
The Ely Regional Trailhead Open House event will be Wednesday, August 27 from 5-8 p.m. with the ribbon cutting slated for 6 p.m.
On Aug. 28 beginning at 7 p.m., “ Songs of The Anishinaabeg, A Night Sky Drum Program” will be held in St. Mary’s Hall in Tower. It will be a special evening of Anishinaabeg Nagamon, where the Night Sky Drum group will share songs and drum teachings. A suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 for those under 18 will be accepted at the door. The Lake Vermilion Cultural Center is located at 705 Main Street, Tower, MN.
Early Childhood Truck Night will be held on Thursday, Sept. 4 in the Ely Ice Arena Parking Lot from 6-7 p.m. Truck Night is an opportunity for let young children to explore trucks and equipment. This is a free event and all young children in the community are invited. In the event of poor weather, the school website (www.ely.k12.mn.us) will announce any cancellations.
The Harvest Moon Vendors Market will be held Sept. 5-6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ely Community Center, 27 S. 1st Ave. E. with free off-street parking.
Everyone is welcome to play MahJong at the Ely Community Center on Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m.
Bingo every Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Ely Community Center. All are welcome, bring your friends for a fun afternoon.
Cribbage is being played at the Zenith Apartments at 965 E. Camp St in Ely on Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m.
