New AA Big Book meeting, to begin at noon, on Sept. 25 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Ely, 231 East Chapman Street, Room 4 in the basement.
A firearms safety field day will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6 in Babbitt. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and the class will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students must be 11 years old by the date of the class and have completed the online hunter safety course. Sisu Heritage of Embarrass is celebrating its annual Community Night Out on Sunday, Sept. 7 from 4-6:30 p.m. at the historic Seitaniemi Homestead. Pat and Donna Surface - Jukebox Hits Through the Decades – will provide the free music at this family-friendly event. Visitors can tour the latest phase of restoration of the housebarn. Bring your own blanket or lawn chairs. Chili, cornbread, pie and coffee will be available.
Babbitt Bible Club for elementary aged students will be starting Sept. 10 at 3:40 p,m, on Wednesdays after school at Babbitt Assembly of God. Students gather in the hall at the school across from the office and walk over to the church with an adult. Teens On Target for high school age students will be starting back up at Babbitt Assembly of God each Wednesday on Sept. 10 at 5:15 p.m. This will be a safe place for teens seventh grade and up to learn about God and what the Bible says about His loving plans and purposes are for them. Babbitt Community 38th Annual Corn Feed and Pig Roast at Woodland Presbyterian Church at 20 Acacia Road, Babbitt on Thursday, Sept. 11 from 4-7 p.m. All the corn you can eat, barbecued pork, cole slaw, bars, coffee and Kool-Aid. Adults $12; six and under free; extra BBQ pork $5.
The Babbitt Ski Club will be holding its first annual public meeting on Sept. 15 in the Babbitt Senior Center in City Hall at 6 p.m. A light supper will be provided. Everyone is welcome.
Northeast Range School will hold a Big Truck Night on Sept. 29 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the school. Additional big trucks would be appreciated!
The Friends of the Babbitt Library are looking for crafters and vendors for their upcoming Harvest Festival on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Interested? Stop by the library to pick up a registration form. Tables are just $10 each.

Stay Active and Independent for Life (S.A.I.L.) sessions have resumed with a 9 a.m. and a 10 a.m. session each Tuesday and Thursday for 12 weeks. This exercise program is free, and designed for people over 60.
