Garrett Mack and Jason Homer staged a comeback to win the 28th annual Scholarship Scramble golf tournament over Labor Day Weekend.
Going into the last hole of the two day 36 hole tournament they trailed leaders, Ben Novak and Joe Wenzel by two strokes, and John and Mark Youngman by one stroke. Novak and Wenzel had a bogey five on the final hole, the Youngmans parred it, but Garrett and Jason poured in a birdie to forge a threeway tie with a score of 128. The tie breaker hole gave the victory to Mack and Homer. Novak and Wenzel took second and the defending champs, Youngmans took third. Fourth place went to Jake Curtiss and Jake Chamberlin with 129.
The first flight winner was Jim/ Tim Butler (139) who won the tie breaker over Steve and Katie Lynch (139) and Bill Chinn/Steve Tuomela (139). Fourth went to Ryan Mahoney/Cody Schulze (140). The second flight was won by Bill and Derick Hammond (140), second Ken Frank/Chris Setter (141), third Curt Koivisto/Greg Erickson (143), fourth Aaron Lamppa/Jared Ferdig ( 144). The third flight winner was Andy Butler/Sand Jokela (150), second Cathy Mattfield/Trent Mc-Dowell (151), third Shawn Sampson/ Brian Wagenbach (152), fourth Diane Serena/Darlene Simonson (154).
Glen Avikainen/Karl Ezell won the fourth flight with 149, second went to Ted and Todd Esala (151), third Toby Latham/Chris Olson (153), and fourth Tim Morcom/ Richie Evenstad (155).
The fifth flight winners were John Blauert/Dean Miller (161), second Sandy Vandervest/Brenda Lind (167), third Judy Hammond/ Tara Roarty (168), and fourth Brittany Curtiss/Carlin Ryan (169).

There were no skins out on Saturday, and only one on Sunday. That skin was won by Ken Frank and Chris Setter in a true scramble. They had an eagle on #6 (2nd round). They used Ken’s drive, Chris knocked it on the green with a 240 yard shot, and Ken sank a 10 footer for the eagle.
There were 108 golfers in the two day tournament. The money raised is put toward scholarships for Northeast Range High School graduating seniors.
