Vermilion wins twice in baseball

The Vermilion Ironhawks recorded two victories Tuesday in fall baseball scrimmage action at International Falls.

Vermilion pitchers walked only four batters in the doubleheader, which included 4-3 and 8-6 wins over Rainy River.

In the opening game, sophomore pitcher Jo Jo Taverna of Bloomington picked up the win, working two shutout innings and notching two strikeouts.
