This concerns the council budget meeting held on Sept. 22. The library faced a budget cut of $38,506.91. While the council reinstated $20,000, there were still funds available that could have restored the library’s budget to the full amount we requested. However, the council chose to allocate those funds elsewhere rather than fully restore the library’s budget. With this cut, the library will face reduced hours, staff layoffs and fewer new books.
