Ely Police Report for December 1-15

Arrests/Citations:

• Crash- Individual issued a citation for no insurance and no child restraint system used.

Complaints:

• Burglary- Officers took a report of a local business that was burglarized over the weekend. Officers determined the suspect was unable to enter the building. This case is pending further investigation.

• Theft- Officers to a report of packages being taken from houses around town.

• Check Welfare- Officers were asked to check the welfare of an individual that had a history of selfharm thoughts. Officers de t e rmi ne d t ha t t he individual was safe.

• Parking Complaint-Officers took a report of vehicles parked in prohibited zones. Vehicles were gone when officers arrived.

• Suspicious Person-Officers located an individual that was sitting in a closed business. This person was sent on their way.

• Parking Complaint-Officers took a report of vehicles parked for over 24 hours. Vehicle owners were contacted and the vehicles were moved.

• Suspicious Person-Officers located an individual that was sitting outside of a closed business. It was determined that the person was an employee getting an early start to the day.

• Cr a sh- Off ic e r s responded to a report of a car that hit a deer.

• Theft- Officers took a report if a theft of gas. This case is pending identification of the vehicle.

• Property- Officers received a wallet that was located in town. The wallet was returned to the owner.

• Info- Officers received a CPS report.

• Hotrodder- Officers located an individual in a parking lot spinning. They were given a warning.

• Public Assist- Individual obt a ined a permit to purchase.

• Parking Complaint-Officers took a report of vehicles parked in prohibited zones. Vehicles were issued citations.

• Disturbance- Officers were contacted about an individua l causing a disturbance at a local business. The individual had left prior to officers’ arrival.

• Child Neglect- Officers referred a case to CPS.

• Public Assist- Individual obtained fingerprints.

• Assist Other Agency-Officers assisted a neighboring agency with a vehicle crash.

• Crash-Officers responded to a vehicle that hit a building. The vehicle and building received minor damage.

• Medical- Officers assisted the Ely Ambulance with a medical.

• Public Assist- Individual obtained fingerprints.

• 911 Disconnect-Officers received a call for an unknown reason and the call was disconnected. Officers determined it was a pocket dial.

• Order Violat ion-Officers investigated an order violation that occurred over text message. Officers issued an arrest warrant for the individual.

• Assist Other Agency-Officers assisted a neighboring agency with a domestic assault with weapons.

• Medical- Officers assisted the Ely Ambulance with a medical.

• Check Welfare- Officers were asked to check the welfare of an individual that had a history of selfharm thoughts. Officers de t e rmi ne d t ha t t he individual was safe.

• Scam- Individual reported their identity stolen. This case was referred to another agency.

• Loud Music- Officers took a report of loud music. The music was turned down prior to officer’s arrival.

• Info- Officers received a CPS report.

• Public Assist-Background check for employment.

• Public Assist- Individual obt a ined a permit to purchase.

• Public Assist- Individual obt a ined a permit to purchase.

• Public Assist- Individual obtained fingerprints.

• Found Property- Officers received property located in town. Officers located the owner and the items were returned.

• Suspicious Activity-Officers took a report of a person entering a closed building. Officers were unable to locate anyone inside.

• Public Assist- Individual obt a ined a permit to purchase.

• Info- Officers received a CPS report.

• Unwanted Person-Officers took a report of an unwanted person at a residence. It was determined that it was a misunderstanding.

• Medical- Officers assisted the Ely Ambulance with a medical.

• Vehicle in the ditch-Officers were contacted about a vehicle in the ditch. The vehicle was towed for safety and driver received a ride home from a friend.

• Medical- Officers assisted the Ely Ambulance with a medical.

• Unknown Trouble-Officers were contacted by an induvial that would not answer questions over the phone. Officers spoke with the individual and they were given a ride home.
