Ely had several theatrical options but the Ely State Theater became its crown jewel entertaining the community starting in 1936 and continues to do so today. Join host, Jess Edberg, executive director of the Dorothy Molter Museum as she scratches the surface on this local history topic, inspiring listeners to take a deeper dive on their own on March 18 at 5 p.m. at the Boathouse Brewpub & Restaurant. History Happy Hour is supported in-kind by the Boathouse Brewpub, Ely’s Heritage Preservation Commission, the Dorothy Molter Museum, Ely-Winton Historical Society, Boundary Waters Connect, the Ely Folk School, Ely Echo, Timberjay and Ely Trivia.
