The Ely mayor and city council candidate forum will take place Thursday, Sep. 10 from 7-9 p.m. The event will be held at Minnesota North-Vermillion Campus in the theater and is sponsored by American Association of University Women-Ely Branch, and Ely Rotary.
The first 45 minutes will be Heidi Omerza and Emily Roose answering questions as Mayoral Candidates. Then those running for council (Abby Dare, Angela Campbell, Al Forsman, Lacy Squier, Mark Zupec and Josh Brang) will have the remaining time to respond to questions.
The forum for school board candidates Jen Westlund, Derekah Kingery, Steve Hornstein, Baily Mc-Linn-Belchar, Joe Weise, and John Kannas will be held Sept. 30 at 7 p.m.
For those who are unable to attend in person, all the candidate forums will be videotaped and available for viewing later on local cable access channel 98 as well as YouTube titled: MN District 3 Senate and 3A House Representative candidate forum 2026 (which took place on Sept. 2); Ely MN Mayor and City Council Candidate Forum 2026; Ely MN School Board candidate forum 2026.
