Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge will be at the Ely Community Center on Sept. 6 at 10 a.m., sponsored by Ely Gospel Church and Praise Fellowship Church.
The 28th annual Ely Artwalk will take place Sept. 1-30 in downtown Ely with more than 400 pieces of art in the shops and windows of downtown businesses by artists living in the Ely area.

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 6:30 p.m. there will be a special
history talk honoring the 143 men who lost their lives in or near the Soudan Underground Mine between 1884 and 1957. Presented by the Soudan Mine Miners Memorial Committee, the program will follow the annual meeting of the Tower-Soudan Historical Society and will be held at the Herbert R. Lamppa Civic Center in Tower. The public is invited to attend for a $10 fee; Tower-Soudan Historical Society members attend free of charge.
At the Ely Public Library on Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. the program will be Yoga for Kids with Mary Friedmeyer – for preschoolers and accompanying adult. Kids and accompanying adults can bend, stretch, and pose to learn yoga basics.
Thursday, Sept. 10 at 12:30 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church will be the monthly meeting of Ely Chapter FD of P.E.O. International. Members are requested to take Harvest Moon items to the festival booth prior to the meeting. Visiting members are welcome. Ccall Kathy Champa, Program Chair, will any questions at 218-220-0969.

Rosanne Omersa on Sept. 10. This free event is a potluck supper along with the concert beginning at 5:30 p.m. and going on until 7 p.m. Bring a dish to share. Freewill donations.
At the Ely Public Library on Friday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. the program will be Hey, It’s a Holiday: National Sewing Month. Celebrate National Sewing Month by learning how to use plastic canvas, making coasters which will be a great way to learn the very basic concepts of sewing. Pre-register.
The 32nd annual Harvest Moon Festival, slated for Sept. 11-13 in Whiteside Park. The festival showcases an array of artists and crafters with one-of-a-kind art, pottery, woodcrafts and more. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
The Northern Lights 5k Color Glow Run Glow Fest will be on Friday Sept. 25, packet pickup and race day registration will begin at noon. Glow Fest is from 4-7 p.m. at Ely Community Hub before the race. New registrations are from noon to 5:45 p.m. Race day prices are $35 for adults, $25 for students and $15 for youth. The event is free to attend, with live music and fun activities for the kids.
