A firearms safety hybrid class will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Students must pre-register by calling Terri Loewen at 218-290-4810. Requirements: Must be 11 years of age before class start date.

A Community Night Out will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13 from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Seitaniemi House Barn at 8162 Comet Road off Hwy. 21 between Embarrass and Babbitt. There will be a live music by Pat and Donna Surface. Tour the newly resided house barn, enjoy chili, pie and coffee. Bring your own blanket and lawn chairs. Free event.

Babbitt High School class of 1966 reunion will be Sept. 19 at 2 p.m.-? At Senior Center (old elementary school) Hope to see you there.

The Babbitt city council has set a date for the city-wide cleanup as Saturday, Sept. 19.

Friends of the Babbitt Library will be holding bingo at the Municipal Gym Saturday, Sept. 19 at noon. Card sales begin one hour before bingo starts and may be purchased after games begin. Twenty games available.

Sisu Heritage will host Dean and Debbie in concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20 at the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Church, 5103 Hwy 21 in Embarrass. Dean Kleven and Debbie Bigelow have been performing together for more than 30 years. Their range includes standards, Latin and pop music. The Babbitt Cross Country Ski Club will be hosting its annual membership meeting Monday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. at Timber Bay Lodge. All community members are invited to attend. The club is looking to expand the board and vote in new members at this meeting. Please attend whether you are an avid skier or are just interested in getting started.

The Babbitt Weekly News will be hosting two candidate forums later this month. The city council candidate forum will take place on Monday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. The forum for mayoral candidates will take place on Monday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. Both events will take place in the Council Chambers at the Babbitt Municipal Building.

Babbitt Lions Club would like to notify the people of Babbitt that anyone in need of medical equipment, walkers, crutches, wheelchairs, hospital beds and much more. The club does loan out such equipment to Babbitt citizens and will take it back when done with it. There is never a charge for this service. The Babbitt veterans resale room now accepting gently used items Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon in the back of the Municipal Building in Babbitt at 71 South Drive. Come check out vintage items for sale.
