A free community Halloween Party will be held at the Ely Community Center on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 6-10 p.m.
The November meeting of Ely Chapter FD of P.E.O. will be held on Nov. 5 at Grace Lutheran Church. Social will start at 12:30 p.m. with the business meeting to follow. Visiting members are welcome. Call Kathy Champa, program chair, with any questions; 218-220-0969.
At the Ely Public Library on Thursday, November 5 at noon the program will be Curiosity Cohort: Resin Art. Learn the basics of working with resins. Each person will make a small pendant to take home, but we’ll also talk about some of the other ways that you can use resin to make decorative items. Please pre-register so that we have enough materials for everyone. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.
At the Ely Public Library on Friday, November 6 at 1 p.m. the program will be Get Crafty: Perler Beads and Loom Bands for ages seven and older. This month, Tricia will have perler beads and loom band stations to keep you entertained for the afternoon. Do one station or do both, the choice is yours. All materials are supplied but you will need to pre-register so there are enough supplies for everyone. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.
Chamber Music Up North “SANGAM” in Ely, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. The address will be provided to those who reserve tickets online. Reserve your seats for free online at www.thirdcoastchambercollective.com. Suggested donation: $25/person. Seating is limited.
On Nov. 13 there will be a Volunteer Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Minnesota North Vermilion Campus. This event, organized by United Way of Northeastern Minnesota, is open to the public. To inquire about hosting a table, contact [email protected] or 218-215-2425.
Ely’s Mahjong club wrapped up a fun summer with a potluck at one of the members’ home. Play Mahjong at the Community Center Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m. New players are always welcome. Contact Sher Erickson 218404-6915 for information.

Northwoods Partners Caregiver Support Group meets the third Tuesday of the month from 11 a.m. to noon at the Ely Area Community Hub, 760 E. Miners Drive.
