Ely bounced back from its loss to South Ridge with a 4-3 win at North Woods, in the second half of a May 9 split doubleheader at the North Woods school.
Thomas had two hits and two RBI for Ely, while Huntington and Zgonc finished with two hits each and Mattson ripped a double.
MacKenzie worked into and out of trouble, finishing with an eight-hitter and four strikeouts.
