So many events take place in a day, a week, a month, a year, a lifetime, an existence. Some time to reflect, to see, to receive, to engage, to see, to hear, to feel.
This birthday’s gifts included visiting some orchids, connecting with family and friends, helping others, receiving a glorious sunset, and appreciating what life offers. What journal can capture all the stories? This June just passed, and July arrives with opportunities to fashion a path full of appreciation.
Continue to create and explore ways to make each day as good as possible. Join those who are finding ways to benefit and appreciate all the potential rewards from community action. On July 4th we strive to make next year’s 250th Celebration even more to appreciate.
You “know” the Ely and the rest of the Vermilion Range, have lived in this area, visited in the past before returning, or just arrived for the first time. Regardless, I can attest to knowing after 48 years here, whatever you know there is always more to discover. And every story changes over time.
Recently, a person visited the Ely-Winton Historical Society Museum. He looked dressed in hiking or running clothes and said when he visits a small town, he tries to visit and check off every street. The museum helped him to learn about what he was seeing.
The more you know or experience, the more you realize you don’t know. You have questions. You want to explore. Ely and the surrounding area continue to add new developments. Stop someone you meet or ask in business, or at the Chamber of Commerce. A walk on a trail or a portage or in the forest on through the neighborhood will result in discovery. You will appreciate the advice and maybe your dog takes a walk at the same time.
