Eagles Nest Fire and EMS Auxiliary will be having a bingo event on Saturday, Aug 30 at the Eagles Nest Town Hall at 1552 Bear Head State Park Rd. Lunch at noon – 1 p.m. $10 (second helpings free) hot dogs/pulled pork sandwich chips and pop. Bingo Starts at 1 p.m., 20 games with intermission along with free prize drawings at $5 per card. Also a “50/50” cash raffle will be held at event with cash prize awarded right after bingo.
LIMITED SEATING so come early to claim a spot! Help “Chalk the Walk” the night before school starts. The Ely PTO will be filling the school sidewalks with inspirational chalk messages for students to see on their first day of school. Chalk the Walk will be from 6-7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 1, meet at the school entrance - chalk will be provided.
At the Ely Public Library on Thursday, Sept. 4 there will be a Puzzle Swap - for all ages. Bring in those puzzles (please be sure that they have all of the pieces) that you’ve grown tired of playing and swap them for some new-to-you ones instead. Please plan to take home puzzles if you bring some in!
Early Childhood Truck Night will be held on Thursday, Sept. 4 in the Ely Ice Arena Parking Lot from 6-7 p.m. Truck Night is an opportunity for let young children to explore trucks and equipment. This is a free event and all young children in the community are invited. In the event of poor weather, the school website (www.ely.k12.mn.us) will announce any cancellations.
The Harvest Moon Vendors Market will be held Sept. 5-6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ely Community Center, 27 S. 1st Ave. E. with free off-street parking.
The North St. Louis County Soil and Water Conservation District will be holding a 75th anniversary open house on Sept. 22 from 2-6 p.m. at 505 Third St. No., Ste. A in Virginia. There will be a K9 demonstration on AIS detection at 2 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to play MahJong at the Ely Community Center on Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m.
Bingo every Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Ely Community Center. All are welcome, bring your friends for a fun afternoon.
