Saturday, December 6 Workshop at Vermilion Campus
Now that Autumn has past and the ground is covered with snow, Minnesota North College and the Ely Field Naturalists welcome the North St. Louis County Soil and Water Conservation District to our community. They will help us help them prepare for next year while this year unmet challenges are fresh in mind.
North St. Louis Soil and Water Conservation District will host an invasive species workshop on Dec. 6 in Ely from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Minnesota North College - Vermilion room CL-104.
It will feature natural resource professionals in the area and cover a variety of topics regarding invasive species in northern Minnesota as well as how to treat and handle them. It is a free event.
Funding is also available to landowners to treat priority species. Lunch will also be provided.
There will be a site visit to an area with invasive species along the Trezona Trail and discuss the work that is being done in the future to treat that area (weather dependent).
