Trout Whisperer - 365, minus the seven, carry the ott, equals more fishin

During the 1940s there was a gentleman who took it upon himself to instruct the masses on time management.

His first order of education came in the form of quartering a standard day of 24 hours into four equal sixhour blocks. Keeping in mind the conventional eight-hour work day, driving to and from your place of employment, a possible nine hours was consumed, leaving 15 hours in your day.

But one should, according to him, to be most effective with your time allotted, at the max or minimum allow for just six hours of sleep, leaves nine hours remaining to do what you desire, in a single day for themselves.

I didn’t read that until the late 60s. I seriously took it to heart, I live with it daily, have for many years, only interruption was time spent in service to our favorite Uncle Sam and he could care less what time it is on any given day.

In the 1970s I read an outdoor fishing author who said his goal for the year was to fish at least once a week for a year. That way he could say he fished 52 times, that was like getting a bucket of cold water thrown in my face, an entire year and to only fish 52 times.

I thought what a terribly wasteful attitude with 365 to choose from. I set out to, and did much better than that. Some days I’d fish all day, other days, maybe an hour or two. The years I was guiding, and then getting paid to fish, I felt like I was robbing the fishing bank of life, and in the year 2026, I’m writing that I hope to do even more fishing.
