The Lake Vermilion Cultural Center in Tower will have the Northern Lights Music Festival at St. Mary’s Hall in Tower on July 7 at 7 p.m. Tickets at https://www. northernlightsmusic.org or at the door for $15 (adults) and $5 (students under 18).
At the Ely Public Library on Thursday, July 9 at 11 a.m. the program will be Get Crafty: Metal Stamping - for older teens (15+) and adults. In this hands-on workshop, patrons will design and create a personalized metal-stamped bracelet featuring a word, phrase, or intention that holds personal meaning. Guided step by step, participants will learn the basics of metal stamping. Pre-registration is required. This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.
On July 10 at 7 p.m. at the Lake Vermilion Cultural Center in Tower songwriter, singer, and author Courtney Yasmineh will be at singing, playing her guitar and discussing her book, A Girl Called Sidney: The Coldest Place. Tickets are available on the LVCC website, https://vermilionculturalcenter. org for $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

The Ely Chamber of Commerce presented the Ely Blueberry/ Art Festival July 24-26 in Whiteside Park.
The public is invited to a public screening of God and Country, a documentary produced by Michele and Rob Reiner that explores the relationship between faith, politics and democracy in the United States on Thursday, July 30, at 6:30 p.m. at the Ely Community Center. Following the film, participants will be invited to engage in a civil discussion grounded in mutual respect, curiosity and a commitment to understanding one another.
Everyone is welcome to play MahJong at the Ely Community Center. Don’t know how to play? No problem. There is a table for beginners with instructors. You can learn on the fly plus there is online help as well. MahJong is played on Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m.
